The most anticipated tournament of Pledge Harbor International School kicked off in style on the 11th of November, 2016. The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. David Hasanat, Chairman of Viyellatex Group, and Ms. Kaniz Zareen, Chairperson of Pledge Harbor International School; the matches were soon underway. In the junior division, the young panthers won all three of their matches, booking their places in the semis alongside DPS. In the other group, South Breeze finished as champions and ITHS came second. The young panthers lost to ITHS in a very close encounter, after conceding only one goal; the match ended with display of nerve-wracking late drama. South Breeze proceeded as the other finalists after they were victors on penalties against DPS. Turkish Hope was crowned champions after defeating the Breezers 4-0. In the senior division, Pledge Harbor played DPS in the opening match, where the panthers dominated the mustangs as it ended 3-1. Despite a 1-0 loss against BIT, the Panthers cruised past Wordbridge and Capstone school, topping the group with flying colors; DPS ended up being the runners up. The other group also boasted a lot of competition, with ITHS finishing runners up behind Scholastica School Mirpur. However, ITHS dominated the semis against Pledge Harbor in a one-sided match, while DPS being the other finalists as the mustangs eased past Scholastica. The final also looked a very one sided match, where the athletic lads Turkish Hope thrashed DPS 4-0 yet again.

lesson to be learned from. Some of the teams stayed overnight in Pledge Harbor’s dormitories and guest houses, enjoying the 27 – acre lush green campus and the state of the art facilities. All in all, the tournament was very well organized and exciting and managed – credits due to the organizers, volunteers and the support staff.
